Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Code

Embrace and realize diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI)

The CFA Institute Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Code champions positive systemic change in the investment industry, reflecting and addressing challenges that come with demographic, cultural, and societal variations across markets. This transformative code provides a structured framework supporting employers, executive leaders, investment professionals, DEI specialists, and HR professionals in crafting impactful and measurable strategies to enable better people management in the investment industry.

First launched in the US and Canada and recently launched in the UK, Europe, Australia and Singapore, more than 200 organizations have now signed up to the DEI Code, building strong momentum for adaptation and adoption of the Code in more financial markets globally under the oversight of a dedicated DEI Steering Committee. Oversight includes strategic advice on all aspects of our industry DEI work, including the DEI Code application process and metrics-based reporting.

DEI Code signatories submit confidential, annual progress reports using the Reporting Framework. In turn, annual reporting enables CFA Institute to consolidate signatory DEI Code data into new industry statistics, providing a comprehensive and representative benchmark reference to further the investment industry’s DEI ambitions to better serve diverse clients.
